Why to Eat Monosodium Glutamate ?

In recent times we see that Monosodium glutamate aka Tasting Salt has become a trend salt. People are getting crazy and stands in queue to get  only a single serving of food. The key reason is that food makers mix tasting salt with foods to make them savory and flavory.

On which foods Monosodium glutamate is applied ?

The chemical name of tasting salt is Monosodium Glutamate(MSG). This salt is  being applied in soups, salad dressings, meats, eggs vegetables, fries  popcorns etc.

In my  market, fried food makers are selling  cooked whole gram, Bora (pulse patty from half grinded pea), Fulori (pulse patty from pea-flour) cooked with tasting salt used aside from regular salt.

Benefits of Monosodium glutamate mixed foods( effects of monosodium glutamate on health)

1.We get Umami Taste from Monosodium glutamate.

We can feel four basic tastes are sweet, sour, salty and bitter. And taste of monosodium Glutamate is thought to be the fifth basic taste. Monosodium glutamate tastes meaty, brothy and savory. So its called Umami taste. Because Umami taste is like the taste of Monosodium Glutamate.

2.We get less sodium foods

Food makers usually use sodium chloride (NaCl) in foods. But if they use Monosodium glutamate then they have to use less sodium chloride. As Monosodium glutamate contains less sodium than sodium chloride, we get less sodium in Monosodium glutamate mixed foods. Less sodium helps us get rid of high blood pressure and calcium loss specially from our bones. Any way, calcium loss makes bones brittle.

3.We feel appetite to eat to our heat's content

As Monosodium glutamate makes a food savory and flavory we eat MSG applied food to our heart's content. Nothing is more important than taste in this world. In this changed global climate situation, all foods have lost their own taste and flavor and we are just to swallow them, not to eat.

4. Monosodium glutamate boosts metabolism

Monosodium glutamate taken from diet is used as fuel by our digestive system. Thus Monosodium Glutamate promotes healthy metabolism.

5. Monosodium has two-third less sodium

Monosodium contains two third less sodium than table salt meaning two-third more potassium. Potassium is good for our health.

How Monosodium glutamate makes body alkaline ?

As there is less sodium than potassium in monosodium glutamate, the potassium boosts our body alkalinity as like vegetables does. Monosodium glutamate boosts our immunity as well.

Why not to eat Monosodium glutamate ?

I have googled and found that people who had eaten Monosodium glutamate mixed foods reported some reactions of eating Monosodium glutamate to FDA(Food and Drug Administration, USA).

FDA

The reactions are as follows.

1. Feeling headache

2. Flushing ( face's turning red due to high BP, emotional stress or when having alcohol or spicy foods.)

3. Sweating

4. Face pressure or tightness

5. Numbness(lack of feeling), tingling or burning in the face, neck and other areas

6. Quick, fluttering heartbeats

7. Feeling chest pain

8. Feeling sick like nausea

9. Feeling weak

But FDA team found no scientific link in between these above symptoms and Monosodium glutamate. These are all rumors I think. Some people may have some allergy to Monosodium glutamate mixed foods.

Conclusion: So buddies, you better go ahead and hunt your own recipe with tasting salt ( Monosodium glutamate).
